Tommy Oliver

Tommy Oliver is probaly the most reconizable and most important character from Power Ranger's early days. Played by Jason David Frank he helped ignite Power Rangers into the powerful fad it became. He was the favorite rangers for all the kids ( when he was supposed to be written out of the show the first time, the kids parents stopped it from happening). Frank left the show finally after its first four seasons. Recently he has returned.

Tommy was introduced as the evil green ranger. He was a new kid in town that tied in a martial arts contest with Jason. Tommy quickly mad a connection with Kimberly. Unfortuantly not long after Rita put a evil spell on Tommy and made him the evil Green Ranger. He became a great enemy of the rangers. He trapped Zordon in another demension and humilated the Rangers in battles. Armed with his Sword Of Darkness he was almost impossible to beat. Rita gave Tommy the Dragonzord which he could control with his Dragon Daggar.

Once Zordon returned to normal the Rangers learned they needed to destroy the Sword of Darkness to break Rita's spell. In a one on one battle Jason was able to destory the evil sword and return Tommy to normal. Tommy agreed to jion the Rangers and use his powers for good. He quickly became a powerful ally for the Rangers. Rita would not take Tommy's betrayal lightly. She constructed a green candle to drain all of Tommy's powers. The Rangers failed to get the green candle and Tommey was forced to give his power cion to Jason to stop the power transfer to Rita. Tommy lost all of hsi powers and beleived his Ranger days were numbered. He did however confess is love for Kimberly and the two became a couple.

Rita captured the Rangers parents and took the dragon daggar. The Rangers were forced to give up their power cions for their parents only to be doublecrossed by Rita. The rangers did not give the green cion however Tommy was soummoned to the Command Center. Zordon engerized the green cion temporally. Tommy quickly morphed and battled Rita's forces for the power coins. Just before he lost full powrr tommy leaped for the cions and was able to retieve them ( he already had retrieved the Dragon Dagger). As he grabbed the coins a jolt of energy hit him and caused him to lose consiousness (as his powers began to fade once more). Tommy was brought back to the Command Center. Eventually Tommey awoke and found out that his powers were back for the short term. He was able to help the ranfers when the day and get their parents back.

Tommy continued to fight as the Green Ranger but had to use his powers sparingly. When Lord Zedd arrived Tommy became his chiif target.When Tommy's powers were almost all gone Zedd used a mystical crystal to drain what was left of them. He was abel to steal the other rRnger's powers and make his own evil team. Tommy was taken to another demension and had to fight Goldar powerless( the two had begun to develop quite the rivalery). Tommy was able to regain his confidence and beat Goldar without his powers. Tommy destroyed the Green Crystal returning the Ranger powers to their rightful owners ( including what was left of his powers). Tommy had one final battle left. He used it to help the Rangers defeat Zedd's monster.

Zordon made a new Ranger called the White Ranger. He chose Tommy to become the white Ranger and made him the leader of the Power Rangers. Tommy became a great leader and led the team well. With his new Tigerzord. Tommy became an even more formidable enemy to Lord Zedd.He had to say good bye to Jason, Trini, and Zack when they went to a peace conference. He welcomed Rocky, Adam, and Aishia to the team.

When Rita's brohter ( rRio Revolot over loaded the morphign Grid Tommy and his firends lost their powers. TOmmy led the team to ninjor wher ehtey recieved nee nnja powers. Tommy was given the power of the falonzord and regained his white armor. TOmmy contiued to lead the tam agaisnt Zedd and Rita. He meant a new girl named Kat, who was really a spy for Rita. When Kimberly's powers were in jeperody ( as well as here life) Tommy defeated Lord Zedd in one on one combat to save her. Tommy soon had to say good bye to Kim as she went to train for the Pan-am Global Games. He became th object of effection for the new pink ranger, Kat ( who was freed from Rita's spell). Tommy recieved the White Shotgun Zord right before this.

When Vile arrived Tommy was able to find the Zeo Crystal. He faced the many illussions and his own fears. He was finally able to put his evil past behind him fully. Once Tommy recieved the Zeo Crystal. The Rangers were ordered to scatter it in time and space. Master Vile turned the Rangers into children ( by turning back time) and they lost their ninja powers. Tommy was sent to find one of the Zeo Subcrystals. On his quest he meant an indian and was given one half of an arrow head. He also found the Zeo Subcrystal he was looking for. Once the Zeo Crystal was reasembled and time was restored to normal. Tommy was able to become Zeo Ranger 5 ( The Red Zeo Ranger). Tommy continued to lead the Rangers and this time battled the evil of the Machine Empire.

Tommy recieved bad news that Kim had found someone new in her life and was breaking up wth him. This allowed Kat and Tommy to become closer and to eventually announce their feelings for one another. Tommy also found out the secret of his arrow head. He realized he had a brother he never knew that had the other half of the arrow head. The two had to keep the arrowhead heads safe as they were the key to ancient imprisoned monsters. Tommy was happy to see Jason become the Gold Ranger. One time Tommy was brainwashed by Prince Gasket into thinking his friends were evil. Kat and Jason helped Tommy remember who he really was. Tommy led the team as they defeated King Mondo.

During Turbo, Tommy became the Red Turbo Ranger. He welcomed Justin to the team and became like a big brother to him. During this time Tommy spent a lot ot his tome training to become a race car driver. He was also able to graduate from high school with his friends. The time had come for the ranges to move on with their lives and return to living normally. He passed his powers and leadership of the Rangers to a teenager named T.J.

Tommy resurfaced years later to return for one more battle. He gathered together all the red rangers in power ranger history and lead them against the remnants of the machine empire (using his old Zeo powers).

Tommy Oliver resurfaced once again. This time he was a teacher of Palentolgy at Reefside High. Just a few years prior Dr Tommy Oliver studied under Anton Mercer. When Mercer disapeared a new villian named Mesogog appeared. He used Oliver's work with Anton for evil. Tommy had built a lab underneath his house and held three dino gems. They were powerful gems that were present in the metoer that impacted the Earth. Three of his young students bonded with the gems. When Mesogog's forces remerged Tommy gave his three students (Conner, Kira, and Ethan) morphers. The mophers were designed from Tomms; friend from Graduate School (Hayley). They allowed the Rangers to access the power of the dino gems to become Ragers.. Tommy tied to guide the team and get them to work together. Mesogog captured Oliver and tried to force him to open a new power source he discovered. At this time the DT Rangers learned of Dr. Olivers past as a Ranger. They helped Tommy escape with the power source Mesogog so craved. The power source was the Black Dino Gem. Tommy used a morpher Hayley had made for him earlier to morph into the Black Dino Ranger. The gem gave him the power to turn invisible.

Oliver fought a long side the rest of the team and continued to mentor them. He was shocked to see Anton Mercer still alive but confused to why Mercer gave him the cold shoulder. Tommy couldn't figure out why one of Mesgog's soldiers (named Zeltrax) had a personal vendetta against him. When the evil Whtie Ranger apeeared Tommy tried to keep the team togerther the best he could. Tommy discovered the White Ranegr was Trent but was forzen in amber before he could tell the Rangers. Later a powerful metoer freed Tommy. As a side effect he was stuck in Morphed form. Tommy had to fiegn illness and let Merce take ove his classed while he tried to find a way to unmorph himself. He was able to continue his Ranger duties. Tommy found out Zeltrax was really his old rival Terrence Smith. After A lab accident Mesogog had made him ino a cyborg worrier. When Trent was freed from evil control Tommy let him on the team. Oliiver was forced to Kill Zeltrax in a battle in his Flying Machine. Oliver tied to use some green goo to return to normal but it only madeh im invisible. Later he had Hayley use the dino gem to restore him. Oliver was restored to normal but became stuck in a coma.

Tommy fought for his life. This battle took on a strange mental representation. He fought some of his former Ranger forms; the Green, White, an Red Zeo Rangers. After Tommy was victorious he was able to awaken from his coma. Tommy resumed his role as a teacher at Reefside. Zeltrax returned and Tommy was determined to track him down. Tommy was surprised Principal Randal was really the evil Elsa and that Anton was Mesgog's alter ego. In the end the Rnaegrs defeated Zeltrax and Mesogog ( Else was restored to her true human form) but they lost the power of the Dino Gems as a result. Oliver decide he was gong to continue to teach at Reefside.

Tommy started out as shy well meaning guy that may have had a slight confidence problem. Another of his main flaws was that he was very forgetful. His time as a Ranger helped him come out of his shell and gain more confidence in himself. Tommy got passed his shyness and learned to become a great leader. Tommy qas a nice guy who treated everyone he knows with respect, especially his friends. As an adult Tommy became mature teacher who had a talent for being out the best in his students. He was still a great Ranger , even at this stage of his life.
